A safe haven for families of every shape and size and children of all abilities.
The Cove Indoor Play is dedicated to providing a joyful space for families to just be together. So you can step back and let children do what they do best: play.
Our values.
We're inclusive.
Every child deserves the chance to play, regardless of ability. We treat everyone respectfully and do what we can to learn and educate ourselves to provide the best experience possible.
We're a community.
This is a judgment-free zone. Everyone is on their own journey, and we are here to support and lean on each other. Modelling the behaviour we want our kids to see.
We're a safe place.
From the design and layout of the space to the selection of our toys and staff training, everything is about providing a stress-free place for fun!
Our family’s story.
In 1990, my family's world was forever changed when my youngest brother was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the age of 3.
As he grew up, I watched as my brother was segregated into a separate classroom with other children who had various disabilities. Witnessing my mother's struggle to find the support and resources she needed for my brother was heart-wrenching. I remember feeling helpless as she battled embarrassment while fiercely advocating for my brother.
Even something as simple as going out for lunch would become a stressful experience. My mother overcompensated for my brother's needs, and my brother wanted nothing more than to be treated like everyone else.
I created The Cove Indoor Play so children of all abilities can play and learn together in a welcoming and accommodating space.
- Trisha Ocampo, Founder of The Cove Indoor Play
My family's experience inspired me to take action and create a safe, inclusive space for families like mine. As a mother, I’ve seen the challenges firsthand and want to ensure no one else has to face the stress and isolation my family endured. I longed for a more accepting and understanding community. The world is changing and becoming more aware of and accepting of diversity in all people, and I am committed to being part of that positive transformation.
